Questions, answered.
The things couples ask me most.
-
As soon as you have a date in mind. Legally, your Notice of Intended Marriage needs to be with me at least one month before your wedding, and it’s valid for 18 months.
-
Official ID, including at least one photo ID, your parents’ full names, maiden names and where they were born, and proof of how any previous marriage ended, if that applies. I’ll walk you through the rest over a cuppa.
-
Please do. There are a few words the law needs us to say, and I’ll weave those in so it still sounds like you. If you get stuck, I’ll help.
-
Yes. If your overseas ceremony won’t be legally recognised here, we can make it official on the Bellarine before or after with Legally & Locally.
-
No. There’s no paperwork, just the two of you saying it all again in front of the people you love.
-
Of course. A reading, or a seat kept for them. We’ll find what feels right for you both.
-
Yes. Travel’s free anywhere on the Bellarine, from Point Lonsdale to Portarlington. Greater Geelong and Torquay is $70, Melbourne’s west $100, and Melbourne’s south-east and east $300. Anywhere else, ask me and I’ll give you a quote.
-
Yes, for Louder, Low Key and Love, continued. My mic and speaker are for the ceremony only. For music and speeches after, you’ll need your own setup.
-
Yes, of course. We won’t be strangers, and there are important documents we need to sign together too. For Louder and Low Key we’ll also talk your rehearsal through, in person or online.
